FAQs
Got a question about the services provided by Maxi Cabs Melbourne? If you can’t find the answer here, please get in touch with our team and we’ll do our best to respond quickly.
- How do I make a reservation with Maxi Cabs?
Booking with us is easy! There are a number of ways to make a reservation – you can fill out our online booking form here or you can give us a call on 0422 673 507. - Can I request a certain type of taxi?
Yes, please let us know at the time of booking if you have a preferred type of vehicle (ie sedan, wagon or maxi cab). - How much does a taxi cost?
This is difficult for us to answer, as it depends on a few factors (such as the distance between your first and final destination, the time of the booking, whether baby seats are required or not, etc). For an accurate estimate, we recommend obtaining a quote either through our online form here or by giving us a call on 0422 673 507. - Are there any cancellation fees?
There are no fees or penalties for cancelling a reservation when you travel with Maxi Cabs Melbourne. However, we do ask that passengers be courteous and give us as much notice as possible of a cancellation. - What is the average fare to Melbourne (Tullamarine) Airport?
On average, a sedan trip costs around $60 and a maxi cab costs around $85 when travelling from Melbourne CBD. Outer Melbourne suburbs may be more or less expensive, depending on the distance. - Is a maxi cab fare more expensive?
Yes, a fare in a maxi taxi will be more expensive than that in a standard sized taxi. When travelling with more than 4 passengers, however, you’ll find that it still works out to be less expensive than booking 2 standard sized vehicles or even buying tickets for the Skybus. - What sorts of payment methods do you accept?
Maxi Cabs Melbourne accepts several different payment methods, including: cash, Eftpos, Cabcharge, PayPal and all major credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, Amex, etc). - How many people can your vehicles seat?
Our sedans and wagons are able to seat a maximum of 4 passengers, whilst our maxi cabs can seat up to 11 passengers. - Can I pre-book my journey?
Yes! In fact, we highly recommend that passengers pre-book their travel to avoid disappointment – particularly if they’re after a maxi taxi. You can pre-book for any time of the day or night, and for any day of the week. - Do you offer special rates for group and tour bookings?
Rather than paying a distance fare, we can tailor a package for certain corporate/group transfers and tours. Please get in touch with our helpful team on 0422 673 507 for more information. - Can my journey include multiple stops?
Yes, however, we highly recommend calling us on 0422 673 507 to discuss prior to booking online to ensure that we can accommodate this request. - Do you provide baby seats?
Yes, we can provide forward and rear facing baby seats and child restraints if required. Our drivers are fully trained in how to install and adjust car seats for your peace of mind. Please note that a surcharge applies for this service. - How many wheelchairs can fit in a maxi cab?
Our maxi cabs in Melbourne are able to accommodate up to 2 wheelchairs at once. Please note that this will decrease the number of available seats for able-bodied passengers. - Is there anything you will not deliver as a part of your goods delivery service?
Drivers will not pick up any goods that are illegal or dangerous. This includes (but is not limited to) fireworks, stolen property, drugs, weapons, explosives, fuel and other hazardous materials. They can also refuse to pick up goods that cannot be secured properly inside the vehicle (please note that they do not carry tie down straps). - What do I do if I’m unhappy with a trip?
Whilst we do our best to provide a more than satisfactory service, Maxi Cabs understands that sometimes things happen and our customers walk away dissatisfied. If you are unhappy with a trip you have taken for whatever reason, please get in touch with us on bookings@maxicabs.au and we will endeavour to rectify the situation as soon as we can. - How has Covid-19 affected travelling in a taxi?
Most Covid-19 restrictions have been removed here in Melbourne, so there are no longer any passenger limits or requirements to wear a mask when travelling in a taxi. However, it is recommended that passengers practise social distancing by sitting in the back seat/s if possible. Passengers can wear a mask if they wish. Hand sanitiser can also be provided upon request.
